Crossways:
Wow! We have been busy! The last few months have been crazy but awesome! Our trip to Mexico was life-changing! Every student that was involved came back with a different idea of how much we have been blessed by God! The children of God that were living at the dump taught us what it means to be joyful-to be thankful even in extreme poverty. The faces of some of the kids that I had the opportunity to meet will live in my mind for the rest of my life! It was amazing to be able to help them even with just some of their needs! We can't wait for the next opportunity to go back! Since then we have also had some amazing opportunities to fellowship as we grow closer to the Father!

A word from the Word:
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24

As we go through life, with all the busy-ness it's hard to remember to look at our lives and see if we are truly living for God as He desires us to. This verse a plea to God. It asks God to question the motives behind our actions. It asks Him to guide us. It asks Him to direct our paths down this crazy highway of life. It takes courage to pray this, it means you have to be willing to see the answers. I challenge you, as I challenge myself, to open up your heart for God to have full control. If you're ready for the challenge, make this verse your plea to God-and be willing to see the truth and make any changes you need to. The only way to be free is to let go and let God have control! It will change your life!

• Crossways Valentines Party! - Feb. 14 @ the Foleys, Come get a chance to be together, have a blast, and thank God for His unconditional LOVE!
• Dare2Share! Feb.29-Mar.1 @ Dodge Theatre! It is a conference that prepares students to share their faith. The title this year is SURVIVE! It includes some amazing speakers, worship leaders, and bands! This year Lincoln Brewster will be leading Worship! And Hawk Nelson will be in CONCERT! Last year was definately one of the most amazing things we did!Don't miss it! Cost is $44 until Thurs. Jan. 31. After that it goes up to $49! Get your tickets! It is AWESOME!
• Sunday Lunch - Mar. 30 After church, come fellowship at the Las Teindas shopping center! It will be a great time!

CROSSWAYS:
The last two months have been exciting and busy times for the group! We have been preparing for our Mission opportunity in Mexico by collecting canned food, clothes, and other donations on the last two saturdays, it has been a great time to get ready for the chance to serve God! (See upcoming events)

A word from the Word:
"Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done." -- 1 Chronicles 16:8

As Thanksgiving arrives this verse is a great reminder of God's command of thankfulness. We have been given SOOOO much! Even the ability to breath is an immeasurable gift from God. One day a year is dedicated to thanking God for life, family, friends, salvation and other gifts but really we should praise God for His blessings every day of the year--with our every breath. So remember as the mashed potatoes melt in your mouth, as you devour the pumpkin pie, and as you laugh at your crazy Uncle, that God has given you this day to praise Him. And Give thanks to the LORD!

Coming Up!

We have the opportunity to go to Mexico and help a group called "Babies in the Dump." We are collecting food, clothes, toys and other supplies to take with us to these families who live in the dump. Most importantly, we will be sharing the love of Christ! If you would like to be apart please contact the Foleys.

This has been a crazy month! Not only did we have an AMAZING turn out for Open Water III but also went to Laser Tag! It has been a great time of fellowship! Open Water brought people together and was a great outreach! Iris out-did herself making this the BEST Open Water yet! I am already looking forward to next year!



A word from the Word:
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14

This month held an important event around the nation--See you at the pole. It is a time for students to gather at their school flag pole and pray, for the school, the nation, and each other. I was extremely excited to be a part of this and was so encouraged by the people that were willing to take a stand for Christ. Prayer is such an important tool. God has given it to us as an ability to have a direct conversation with the creator of the universe! I am immensely grateful that I have the opportunity to have a conversation with my Lord. Often, Christians-myself included-don't take advatage of the opportunity, we tune God out. He promises us in this passage that if we will simply cry out and be humble, He will be there. My challenge is to take a stand, by prayer! He wants to answer, so in the words of Casting Crowns, what if His people prayed???

We have all been getting back into the world of school this last month! What a great time to see how much of a blessing getting together for crossways on thursday nights and Sunday mornings really is!

A word from the Word:
"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile." - Romans 1:16

As School is back in session its time to truly take a look at what this verse means. "I AM NOT ASHAMED!" That in and of itself is a statement to be thought about. Are you ashamed of Jesus Christ? When you walk into your classes do you want your classmates to know that you serve the living God? Are you willing to take a stand for your faith when teachers, students, or even your friends push it down? These questions form what that statement means. Unashamed. Not afraid. Standing up. The Bible has the answers of HOPE for EVERYONE who believes. Jesus Christ is asking each and every one of us to take His Word to those that don't know. Now the question is. will you?

Crossways:
Well we have just returned from Project SERVE and have had an AMAZING time! We had the opportunity to go to Tonto Rim camp and serve God by serving them. Our task- split a LOT of logs, and dig out a pond. Sounds easy enough, but it was hard labor and yet, NO BODY wanted to stop! When put in perspective we realized that the wood we were chopping would go towards campfires that would bring many to salvation. The students of Crossways jumped in with both feet and pushed themselves out of EVERY comfort zone they had. We had a blast too! Not only did we have great games, music, and Bible study in the evening but we couldn't help but have fun working as well! Also, on the last night of the unforgetable camp Li'l B became a brother in Christ! HURRAY and AMEN! Everyone came back changed and ready to serve in any way possible! I am so excited to see how we make Project SERVE a lifestyle! Just remember, "Hi-ho-hi-ho it's off to work we go!"

Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."-Matthew 20:26-28

This is what Project SERVE focused in on. Teaching us to put ourselves aside and place others needs first. To truly care for those that God has told us to serve. He desires for His children to follow Christ's example of servanthood and do anything we can to point others back to our Creator. This is where we learn to get out of our comfort zone and serve.

We are about to begin the Thursday Night training for Project SERVE! All meeting times remain the same... But remember to bring your OWN Bible every week! We are also still meeting on Sunday mornings! All of the students are enjoying the summer and we are really excited to see what God is going to do! Can't wait to see everyone at Crossways Meetings!

A word from the Word:
"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God," - 2 Timothy 1:7-8

We have to remember that GOD did not give us a spirit of fear. If you want the courage to step up and do something for God and His kingdom you have to take the time to ask Him for it. We can not do it alone. We need His help and then we do truly need to do it! So as you are enjoying this lovely summer break, take the time to ask God to give you power, love, and self-discipline. And then, use it! =)

What an amazing promise! From the King of kings we are given the ultimate encouragement! That He will ALWAYS be there, He is STRONGER than the problems we face, He DELIGHTS in us, He COMFORTS us, and He REJOICES over us! This is the hope that comes from a personnal relationship with Him... Well, we have been growing in fellowship at our Thursday and Sunday Groups and that has been an AWESOME time!

a word from the Word:
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. -Lamentations 3:22-23

God's love is so powerful that He has saved us from the death our sins deserve! His son died so that we may live! He has compassion on us in ways that no human can truly understand! And they NEVER end... God is ALWAYS faithful! He cares. Trust that and you will find a hope that is amazing!

What's Coming Up???
Project SERVE--July 6-9
This is more than a summer camp! This is a training ground for a 'servants heart'! We will be having service projects which will help to benefit the camp as they seek to encourage others! Also we will have the opportunity to hear messages and participate in some fun activities as we grow closer to each other and to God!
It will take place at Tonto Rim near Payson.
Because we are helping the camp, cost is only $29 before May 24! (after that it increases to $39 and then to $49) So register today!
Before we leave we will be having training weeks all THURSDAYS in JUNE!
I hope that all will be able to attend this amazing camp!

CROSSWAYS:
We just got back from the DARE2SHARE - Gameday conference, and it was AMAZING! There are not words to describe how much awesome work we saw from God in the last few days! The speakers were great and challenged each of us to get off the bench and start winning our friends for the Lord! TODAY IS GAMEDAY! PLUS, we had FANTABULOUS (LOL) music done by Starfield, Rachel Washington, and Superchic[k]!!! Praise God for each and every life that was transformed by the impacting ministry of Dare2Share!!!

A word from the Word:
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. -2 Timothy 4:1-2

Lets GO! God is commanding us to PREACH THE WORD! that means to let everyone know... Our friends, family, random people we see on the sidewalk!
Lets FIGHT! We are fighting FOR them, we are NOT fighting them! The prize? Their eternal life! Keep the faith, fight the GOOD fight!
Lets WIN! If we will follow God's command and sincerely reach our friends for Christ we will win the prize He has promised to those who love Him!

CROSSWAYS:
We have recently had the amazing opportunity to share in God's love at a great Valentine party! (Thank you Rich and Debbie!) Not only was it a fun time, it was a great outreach!
I continually thank God for His hand in this ministry and am praying that He will guide each of us too His will!

A word, from the Word:
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. -1 John 4:10

God's Love for us is so much more than we could ever imagine. He sent His one and only Son to die a painful death all because He loved us! We don't deserve it but He has still offered it, out of love. February is a time where it is inevitible to think about love, and with all the chocolate and balloons you see this month, realize that the King of kings is asking you to "Be His."

This is going to be one event NOT to miss!!! it is a conference put out by "Focus on the Family" that teaches students how to better share their faith and grow in their own walk with God...the featured artists are Starfield and Superchick!!! Crossways? The who, what, where, when, and WHY?

CROSSWAYS:
This Blog is here to tell you all about this exciting ministry! Here are just a few FAQ's!

Who are we?
Crossways is a student ministry of Family Bible Church meant for any Jr. High or High School student that wants to learn about God, gain encouragement from others, grow in faith and maturity in a their walk with Christ, and have FUN!

What do we believe?
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and as 2 Timothy 3:16 says "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness..." We believe that for salvation from sins you must:
a) admit you are a sinner
b) believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and that he came to earth to die on the cross for our sins, that he rose again on the third day acording to the scriptures! (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
c) Confess your sins to God and follow Him... (1 John 1:9)
At that point God grants eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord to all that truly want to follow Him... (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Where and when do we meet?
We meet at Family Bible Church on Sundays @ 9:00 A.M. for Sunday school and 10:30 A.M. for Church service. (Which in itself meets at Hancock Elementary School... for directions go to www.familybiblechurchaz.org) and during the week we meet onThursday nights @ 6:00 P.M. for dinner and 7:00 P.M. for discipleship @ the Foley's House for more information call (480) 940-1840

Ok, so I get all that but, WHY?
Because we are committed to the ways of the C.R.O.S.S.
